China Economic Net, Singapore, 5th Nov, Reporter Tao Jie: The Singaporean charity donation of S$ 10.25 million (51.25 million yuan) from the Sichuan Earthquake Charity Show (SECS) for the 2008 Sichuan earthquake was used for the rebuilding of seven schools at Sichuan Mianyang, Dayi, Mianzhu, Shifang and Guanghan, and the reconstruction of a bridge, which are in full operation now.

The exchange students from earthquake-affected regions in Sichuan were in Singapore for a cultural immersion and education program
The 30 students are from the 7 Sino-Singapore Friendship Schools in Mianyang, Shifang, Mianzhu, Guanghan, Dayi and 3 Project Hope Primary Schools in the remote rural region of Sichuan. This 2nd batch World Learner students were in Singapore on 25th October 2011.

Minister Lim meets 30 World Learner Exchange Scholars
The 2nd World Learner welcomes 30 exchange students from Sino-Singapore Friendship Schools and Project Hope* Primary Schools from the earthquake affected and rural regions of Sichuan. Lead by the executive committee of World Learner, they started their exchange studies in Pei Chun Public School and Hwa Chong Institution.
